Three new members attended this Saturday's meeting of
NFW. Joyce Davidson suggested having a group party at her house in Fleming
Island. A vote approved this and using this party as our January meeting,
which will be held the 3rd Saturday of January at her house. Briefly discussed
was the issue of new officers for the 2007 year. Carrol Wolverton suggested
the current slate of officers be continued for another year. Joyce said that
more of the existing officers needed to be present for a vote, so the issue
was moved to the January meeting. Richard Levine discussed one of his projects
with Parabolic Pictures, which is proposing a short story contest with the
intent of making the selected short story into a short movie. A vote was taken
and approved to link this contest to NFW as a way of giving both groups added
exposure. There will be a fee to enter but no cost to NFW. Also discussed was
our impending NE Florida poetry anthology, and it was decided to continue this
discussion at the January meeting. Critiques followed.
