Regular meeting cancelled in order for members to attend the Amelia Island Book Festival February 12-13.

President Margie Sauls called the meeting to order and introduced two guests.
Critique Session followed with 1 short story & 1 chapter from a novel.
The meeting was adjourned at 3:45.
April 10, 2010
President Margie Sauls called the meeting to order and welcomed guest speaker, Chris Berman.

Howard Denson conducted the meeting in President Margie Sauls’ absence.
Howard introduced Guest Speaker, Ben Edmonson, who spoke on
“Hypnosis as a Literary Device.”
Edmonson cited a NY Times article (May 8,2010), “Charting creativity: signpost of a hazy territory,” as providing some information on his topic. He also recommended Alias Grace by Margaret Atwood as a good resource for use of hypnosis in literature. Edmonson says that all novelists are hypnotists putting our readers in a trance by “getting lost in the story.” He offered his assistance to any writers seeking more information on using hypnosis in their writing & may be contacted at www.affiliatedhypnosis.com
